How to Unlock the Mines & Basic Exploration Rules
The Northwestern Mines are situated past the Museum and the Summit Trail. On Spring Day 7 (or whenever your Town Renown reaches Stone Rank), an earthquake cutscene occurs. Visit the entrance to trigger dialogues with Errol and March, who equips you with your starter tools.

How to Feed a Mimic Chest
Instead of hitting the Mimic with your sword (which triggers dangerous counter-attacks), hold any food item or ore in your hands and press G to throw it into the Mimic's yawning mouth! The Mimic will chew contentedly for 2 seconds, become friendly, and spit out high-tier rewards like Gems, Artifacts, and Fire Crystals!
