Fields of Mistria Best Crops: Every Season's Money Guide
The fastest Tesserae in Year 1 does not come from one giant pumpkin — it comes from multi-harvest regrowth crops you plant once and pick for weeks. This page turns the crop database into a profit ranking, season by season, and shows where the Seed Maker and processing stations actually pay off. All seed, growth, regrow and base-sell figures below are pulled straight from the game data and matched to the official wiki.
4 seasons 28-day model Multi-harvest wins
The three money principles
Model used below: each season is 28 days. For regrowth crops we count first harvest plus every regrow that fits inside the season; for single-harvest crops we count how many plantings fit. Profit/day = (all harvest sell value − seed cost) ÷ 28. Foraged/Seed-Maker crops are counted at zero seed cost. These are base-quality numbers.
Spring: best crops
Spring is your cash-flow ramp. Start with cheap fast turnips and potatoes while you save for the expensive regrowth packets.

Winter: best crops
Winter field space is limited and most income shifts to the mines, fishing and the request board. Snow Peas is the standout regrowth.
| Crop | Seed cost | Grow (d) | Regrow (d) | Base sell | Harvests / 28d | Net / season | Profit / day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Snow Peas regrows | 300t | 5 | 3 | 125t | 8 | 700t | 25t/d |
| Daikon Radish | 70t | 9 | — | 180t | 3 | 330t | 11.8t/d |

| Poinsettia | 20t | 6 | — | 30t | 4 | 40t | 1.4t/d |
Crop quality tiers
Crops carry a star quality rating that raises the sell price: Normal → Silver → Gold → Prismatic. Higher quality is driven by fertilizer and your Farming skill level. Prismatic crops sell for a large premium over Normal, which is why fertilizer is worth it on expensive regrowth plots (strawberries, tea, onion) but a net loss on cheap flowers. The tables above use Normal/base prices — quality bonuses raise every row, they do not change the ranking order.
Processing value: raw vs. artisan goods
Once you unlock preserving and fermenting, processing the right surplus multiplies value. The verified recipes below come from the recipe database:
| Artisan good | Inputs | Sell price | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blueberry Jam | Blueberry (6) + Sugar (1) | 140t | Turns six low-value summer berries into one jar. |
| Blackberry Jam | Blackberry (6) + Sugar (1) | 140t | Same preserves-jar math on foraged brambles. |
| Wild Berry Jam | Wild Berries (6) + Sugar (1) | 115t | Early-game preserves recipe, unlocked by request. |
| Cranberry Juice | Cranberry (1) | 135t | A single cranberry (125t base) pressed into juice. |
| Apple Juice | Apple (1) | 50t | Orchard surplus with no extra seed cost. |
Preserves jars and fermenting kegs roughly double raw crop value, and the Master Artisan shrine perk adds a further bonus to processed goods. The practical rule: ship raw if you need cash today; process if you can wait for the machine timer. For the full recipe list see All Recipes.
Year 1 money timeline
- Spring early: plant the free turnip seeds Celine gives you, then buy potatoes and carrots. Eat the free Inn soup for stamina. Save toward the 1,000t backpack upgrade.
- Spring mid: switch saved cash into Strawberry and Pea regrowth packets — these pay for themselves by late Spring and keep paying.
- Summer: tea / corn / tomato regrowth block, plus forage berries for jam. Rainy days are free mining days (no watering).
- Fall: onion, rice, wheat and cranberry. This is your richest farming season; bank hard for Winter and tool upgrades.
- Winter: snow peas on the farm, mines + legendary fishing + request board for the rest.
Income that is not planting
- Mines: duplicate ore, gems and monster drops after you reach Town Rank Stone (level 10). Gems sell well and museum donations double as Renown.
- Fishing: Legendary fish and good shadow-size catches pay far more than foraged crops, especially in off-seasons.
- Insects: bugs caught with the net sell or donate; high-value specimens fund early seeds.
- Request board: keep 2–3 of everything — board requests pay a premium and grant Renown.
Common money mistakes
- Planting only single-harvest crops. Replanting every few days burns stamina and seed money. Regrowth is the whole point of farming here.
- Selling every crop raw. Keep a stack for requests, museum and gifts, and run high-value surplus through processing.
- Ignoring the Seed Maker. Foraged crops and spare harvests become free seed packets — this is how regrowth margins compound.
- Fertilizing cheap flowers. Fertilizer can cost more than the quality premium it adds on low-value crops. Save it for strawberries, tea and onion.
- Wasting Winter on bare fields. Mine, fish and board requests — Winter farm income is a bonus, not the plan.
