Fields of Mistria Town Rank: Renown and Every Unlock
Town Rank is the prosperity meter for the whole village. You earn Renown by shipping goods, donating to the Museum, finishing request-board quests and joining festivals, and every ten Renown levels you raise the rank — from the starting Wood rank up through Stone, Copper, Ruby, Iron and beyond. The single biggest gate in Year 1 is Town Rank Stone at level 10, which unlocks the Mines. This page explains how Renown works, how to push to Rank 10 fast, and what each rank unlocks.

How Renown is earned
At the end of each in-game day a summary screen shows your Renown for the day. The reliable sources are:
- Shipping bin on your farm — selling crops, foraged goods and fish feeds Renown every day.
- Museum donations — donating new fish, insects, artifacts and minerals grants a chunk of Renown and unlocks wings.
- Request board quests — completing deliveries pays Tesserae and Renown; town repair projects pay a lump sum (the Spring bridge repair awards 20 Renown).
- Story quests and festivals — mail quests and festival participation add bursts of Renown.
The rank ladder and what unlocks
Each rank spans 10 Renown levels. Rank-ups happen at levels 10, 20, 30 and so on.
| Rank | Reach level | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Wood (start) | 1–9 | Starter tools, foraging, farming; early Adventurer outfit pieces as level rewards. |
| Stone | 10 | The Mines open. Eiland's "State of the Mines" quest (mail Spring 6) and Errol's letter lead you to the entrance; March gives you the pickaxe and sword. Stamina up. |
| Copper | 20 | General Store stock expansion, broader seed and tool offerings; Ranger outfit rewards. |
| Ruby | 30 | Museum / décor rewards, Mistria wall map and history scrolls. |
| Iron | 40 | Blacksmith tier-up and the 30-slot backpack upgrade unlock; Caldosian traveller outfit. |
| Sapphire | 50 | Crown Requests unlock; the "Stone Refinery" story quest opens around level 55; cottage garden set. |
| Silver | 60 | Noble outfit rewards and advanced cooking / greenhouse content. |
| Emerald | 70 | Golden treasure boxes and Large Essence Stone rewards. |
| Gold | 80 | High-tier rewards and late town projects; continued golden boxes. |
| Diamond | 90 | The current level cap; Stamina up at the cap. |
| Mistril | future | Planned for a later major update alongside the remaining mine content. |
Level numbers (10/20/30…90) are the reliable tracker shown on your profile page. Cumulative Renown totals to reach each level scale up as you climb — check the daily summary bar to see how close you are. See how the Mines unlock.
How to reach Rank 10 (Stone) fastest
Rank 10 is the Year 1 bottleneck because it gates the entire mine — copper, iron, gems, combat essence and the Dragon Forge all wait on it. Prioritise, in order:
- Ship something every single day. Even foraged berries and the daily crop harvest move the bar, so never end a day with a full bag.
- Donate one new museum item whenever you can. New donations give a bigger Renown bump than repeat shipping — donate the first fish, insect and artifact, ship the rest.
- Clear the request board. Board quests and town repair bundles (like the Spring 3 bridge donation) pay Renown on top of Tesserae.
- Do the early story letters. Eiland's museum introduction and the mine story line are tied directly to rank progression.
- Show up to festivals. Participation adds Renown you would otherwise miss.
Year 1 timeline to the Mines
- Day 1–2: meet Celine and Hayden for starter tools, donate your first item at the Museum with Eiland.
- Spring 3: open Adeline's bridge-repair letter, gather and donate the bundle for a Renown bump.
- Spring 6: Eiland mails "The State of the Mines." Keep shipping and donating to climb toward level 10.
- Once you hit Stone (level 10): Errol sends the "Unlocking the Mines" letter; meet Errol and Eiland at the mine entrance in The Narrows to open the Upper Mines.
After the mines open, Renown keeps flowing through ore, gems and artifact donations, and the later ranks (Copper at 20, Iron at 40) unlock the backpack, store and blacksmith upgrades that accelerate everything else.
